BENCH AND PEDESTAL WHEELS

TYPE A — Aluminum Oxide general purpose wheels for a wide variety of roughing and finishing operations. These durable grinding wheels have a Vitrified Bond to provide a fast cutting action along with comparatively good finishes on soft steels and tool steel.

TYPE GC — Green Silicon Carbide abrasive grain for sharpening carbide tool bits and other carbide applications. These wheels have a Vitrified Bond for cool cutting and provide an excellent finish.

Our brush factory combines the latest in brush technology and uses the highest quality brush fill materials to produce a full range of power and hand brushes for many applications. They use “state-of-the-art” automated equipment and all brushes are produced under a very controlled manufacturing process. This insures consistent quality from brush to brush.

Another advantage is that they are a fully integrated manufacturer that is they produce all of their own sideplates, wooden handles and spare parts, which is essential to controlling costs and maintaining competitive pricing.

All wire brushes are in stock and are available for immediate shipment from our Cleveland, Ohio warehouse.

BRUSH FILL MATERIALS

Special high tensile strength steel wire available in different diameters for knot type, crimped and hand brushes.

Stainless Steel wire brushes are usually designated with green side plates/cups. Stainless brushes are resistant against corrosion and high temperatures.

KNOT CUP BRUSH

For heavy duty use. Preparing metal surfaces prior to painting. Removal of rust, slag, weld scale or concrete waste.

RESIN FIBRE DISC BACKUP PADS

PA6/30FG HARD BACKUP PADS

We now have in stock a special HARD TURBO backup pad designed for use with Ceramic and Zirconia Fibre discs. The new pad is composed of PA6/30FG material which is impact resistant, heat resistant and holds up to high working pressure that is associated with Ceramic & Zirconia disc grinding.

PA6/30FG is halogen free, heat resistant modified POLYMIDE, NYLON (grade PA6) reinforced with 30% glass fibre. This material is excellent for injection molding and the pads can stand up to the toughest applications. We mold this material into Turbo Pads with FINE cooling ribs to dissipate the heat build-up which makes the disc last longer. The HARD feature enables the disc to properly support the disc even in the most severe jobs. They are available in 7", 5" and 4-1/2" diameters included with a 5/8-11 disc pad nut. All pads are in stock and can be shipped immediately.

RUBBER TURBO BACKUP PADS

Use AIR-COOLED rubber turbo backup pads with our Semiflex or resin fibre discs. The pads have a threaded center for safe and easy mounting to the grinder/sander. There are slots in the metal hub that draw the air in, which is then circulated by the spiral ribs and forms a layer of air in between the pad and the disc. This layer of air keeps the discs cool, which in turn makes the discs cut faster and last longer.

Film Backed Sanding DISCS

Super premium aluminum oxide abrasive grain is coated to a film backing, rather than paper or cloth. The film backing will not tear or crease like paper discs. A special non-loading top coat keeps the discs free sanding and helps prevent loading and clogging. Film Sanding Discs are available with PSA or Hook & Loop systems.

PSA

Individually die cut discs with full release paper to protect the PSA coating. Pull-tab feature enables discs to be changed quickly thus reducing operator downtime.

ALUMINUM OXIDE RESIN BOND CLOTH

Aluminum Oxide Resin Bond Cloth that is versatile for metal, plastic and woodworking applications. Our advanced “Hot Melt” PSA Coating System enables the disc to operate at high speeds and resist high temperatures for maximum performance without flying off. They are more economical than expensive mechanical lock-on discs and provide a longer shelf life than conventional self-adhesive discs.

PULL TABS are standard with 5" and 6" diameter discs.

This is our general purpose material for all medium to heavy duty metalworking applications. Our Premium Aluminum Oxide Quick sanding belt is ideal for stock removal with excellent finishing characteristics.

Our 24-120 grit Aluminum Oxide X weight cloth belts are excellent for grinding leather (shoe repair), wood, aluminum and plastic applications where loading is a problem.

PREMIUM ALUMINUM OXIDE J WT. CLOTH (Grits 60-500)

Our J wt. cloth is a full resin bonded closed coated A/O grain on a flexible jeans backing. It is used in a very broad range of medium grinding and sanding applications. Its flexible backing is also ideal for all profiled work pieces.

Alumina Zirconia Y Weight Polyester Cloth is a must for all heavy grinding applications. The special self-sharpening abrasive grain is coated to a heavy duty Y Wt. Polyester Cloth backing with heat resistant resins. It is a very fast cutting, long lasting belt material for most tough metals. Theses belts can be used wet or dry.

ALUMINA ZIRCONIA Y WT. POLYESTER CLOTH WITH GRINDING AID (Grits 24-120)

The Grinding Aid in these belts is an outstanding material for stainless. The special grinding aid dissipates the frictional heat build-up which enables the belt to stay cool and keep working way beyond the life of most other belts.

SILICON CARBIDE WATERPROOF CLOTH (Grits 24-600)

This extra sharp silicon carbide grain is terrific for grinding hard and abrasive surfaces such as glass, fiberglass, granite, marble and stone. It is also used on plastics, ceramics, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, copper and brass. These belts can be used wet or dry.

CORK POLISHING CLOTH

The Cork Polishing Cloth material is used to remove scratches and surface imperfections in glass. Our Cork Polishing belts should be used wet for maximum performance and optimum results.

CERAMIC Y WT. POLYESTER CLOTH WITH GRINDING AID (Grits 24-120)

Random Products’ 100% ceramic grain is extremely hard and actually sharpens itself during operation. The ceramic grain is easy to work with because it breaks down with less work pressure than zirconia which reduces operator fatigue. SILICON CARBIDE WATERPROOF LATEX PAPER
Random Products’ Silicon Carbide Latex Waterproof Sandpaper is used dry, but are most effective in wet applications. The combination of the full resin bond, the “anti-slip” waterproof latex paper backing and the sharp S/C grain produces a superior quality product for polishing metallurgical specimens such as glass, stone, marble, general metal finishing. It is perfect for applying scratch patterns to metal, plastics, fiberglass or between coats of paint or primer.

ALUMINUM OXIDE PAPER
Our Aluminum Oxide Sandpaper product is available with (2) types of paper backing. The C & D weight backing sandpaper sheets use a heavier paper for rapid stock removal with minimum loading and glazing. The A wt. paper is used for fine finishing and contour sanding. Both Random Products Aluminum Oxide sandpapers are the industry standard for woodworking, plastics, metal and painted metal surfaces.

GARNET PAPER
Garnet is a natural, mined abrasive grain that is primarily used in the furniture and woodworking industries. Our garnet sandpaper is also available with (2) types of paper backing: our C & D wt. paper is for medium stock removal and some finishing work and our A wt. garnet sandpaper is used primarily for fine finishing.

SILICON CARBIDE NON-LOADING PAPER
Our Non-Loading Silicon Carbide Sandpaper is used for medium to light sanding of painted metal and wood surfaces. The “A” wt. backing will conform for contour sanding and should only be used dry. Our special coating minimizes loading, thus increasing the life and performance of the product.

Random Products’ Metal Cloth Aluminum Oxide Sandpaper sheets are made of premium aluminum oxide grain coated to a flexible “J” wt. cloth backing with urea resins. These aluminum oxide sandpaper sheets are ideal for hand or power sanding of metals, plastics, woods and most other types of materials.

EMERY CLOTH
Emery is a natural or mined abrasive that is not hard enough for production grinding of metal products. Emery Cloth is generally black in color and is used for general maintenance, light cleaning and polishing of metal surfaces.

CROCUS CLOTH
Crocus cloth is made of finely ground iron oxide particles used to clean and polish metal surfaces allowing for a minimum amount of stock removal.

SANDSCREEN SHEETS
Silicon carbide grain is coated to an open mesh screen for sanding drywall and other soft materials that have a tendency to load or clog the sanding sheet.

SEMIFLEX DISCS

Multiple layers of abrasive grain are coated to a heavy duty vulcanized fibre backing for extremely quick cutting action, fast stock removal, deburring, blending and finishing. Spiral ribs for fast cutting action and to clear away grinding material; holes for cooling, especially when used with our air-cooled rubber backup pads.

Semiflex discs must be used with a backup pad. Coarse grits are excellent to remove flashing on fiberglass tanks and boats, while medium grits provide fast stock removal and can blend and finish all in one. ELIMINATES the OLD 2 STEP process of grinding (with wheel) and finishing (with fibre disc). SEMIFLEX discs can do it all in one step!
